M2Doc: Access date of last Excel Import

Hi all, I would like to put the date of the last import of a Excel file from 'Update Elements from CSV/Excel...' to my M2Doc report. However, this date is only accessable with M2Doc in system time as a long unreadable number.

Is there a way to convert this number to a readable date in M2Doc or can I find an accessable and readable version of the date somewhere else then in the eAnnotation details.

Hi Yannik,

you may define yourself a special derived property (Javascript) which navigates to date and converts it into a string - somehow like this:

if(theExcelDate)
{
 result = new Date(theExcelDate);
 result.toDateString()
};
result

the variable theExcelDate would point/navigate to the appropriate data field (sorry didn't have time to look that up in detail yet).

You may as well use the eval service to evaluate some java script inside M2Doc Template.

Lets assume you have an object (named model) and that object has an attribute "user_date" which is a date (i.e, the long long integer), you can do this in m2doc:

and the model would be something that I need to specify through Javascript? Or what exaclty would the model be then?

Hi Yannik,

No, the "model" is in this case an M2Doc Variable, which you define and assign in the M2Doc configuration checklist in medini. Can be anything, which has a profile property "user_date" with a date (as Jan wrote) in this example.

Ok, I'm not sure if the object from which I want to have the import date has this 'user_date' attribute.

In the properties info tab, there is the Last Excel Import listed, but im not sure if this belongs to the 'user_date' attribute since I also cannot find any 'user_date' property in the debug diagnose feature.

Also if I run M2Doc with the command as Jan mentioned, I get 'Invalid Date' printed in the output file. If I run the command without the conversion of .toLocaleDateString() it prints out 'org.mozilla.javascript.NativeDate@42efef4f'.

that model.user_date was just an example that I used to replicate your problem. I had defined it manually in my profile.

I assumed that you were already able to extract the "last excel import date" and have it accessible in m2doc, maybe that was not correct?

If it was, please post here the way you solved that and I can adapt my m2doc example.

I tried the newDate for a checklist entry with a target Date specified.

Krasimira, in that particular case you may just missed the space between new and Date? so new Date not "newDate"
