Next major release 2023 R2 is about to be released soon (July 6th) and there are some changes wrt. m2doc worth mentioning.
1. Multiple objects per variable as collection to AQL
Before 2023 R2 only a single object was assigned to a variable, no matter what, so even if multiple objects were dropped in the configuration. That was improved and all objects (if there are multiple) are passed to the m2doc interpreter as a collection.
2. Support co-locating external documents
Sometimes there is the need to render references (hyperlinks) to external documents in the report that are available in the project. That's easy when the final report is generated into the very same project, as report and documents stay in the same project. However, if you generate the report to an external location and remove the project from the workspace, all links brake. There will be a feature that helps the report designer to make sure all referenced documents are copied to the same location the report is placed to and create relative links to those copies instead. We call this "co-loated documents".
3. Simple service to cut off style information from derived properties text
Using derived properties allows you to encode icon and color information into it. That may screw up the report as these "prefixes" are not cut off. There will be a service to do that.
4. Create VARIABLES sections in new M2Doc configuration
Last simple improvement is that the VARIABLES section is created by default.
