M2Doc if statements on effectiveKind

Question

I am creating an m2doc report based on information in the nodes of a fault tree. I would like to output only the base nodes, not intermediate nodes. How can I filter using the
effectiveKind attribute of a fault tree node? I have seen by running Medini in debug mode that effectiveKind is not a text field but a field of ‘EventType’ and I have nodes in the
tree which are BASE, INERMEDIATE and TOP_LEVEL so I know those are the allowed
values. However, if I try to make an if statement it fails with any syntax I
can think of to try:

{m:if e.effectiveKind = BASE}

{m:if e.effectiveKind = ‘BASE’ }

{m:if e.effectiveKind = EventType::BASE}

{m:if e.effectiveKind = 0}

Can you please give me an example?

I think you just forgot the main FTA package: this works for me now

Hi Erin,

The simplest way is to not really compare the types, but to compare the converted strings - at least that's what I so far used, e.g. in the tables M2Doc sample  ({ m:if e.probabilityData.cycle + '' = 'MONITORED' })

So in your case you could use an empty string added to the effectiveKind, so that you have a string to compare:

{ m:if e.effectiveKind + '' = 'BASE' }

I think I need to dig into that a bit myself. Anyway, as a last option you always can use our nice eval service and execute some script to accomplish the task for example this works for me and gives me true or false:

{ m:e.eval('self.effectiveKind == Metamodel.FTA.EventType.BASE;') }
