Creation of custom column in BIRT FMEA template

I'm sorry if this is a copy of another open topic.

In FMEA worksheet template profiling, I've created the custom column:

"user_next_higher_level" with code 

self.element.mediniGetContainer().mediniGetContainer()

 This property is derived from "Failure effect"

In BIRT FMEA template I would refer to this item in a dedicated column, The table which starts with Potential failure mode which is the first nested one, has a binding to "FMEAFailureEntryDataSet" so my understanding was to create a computed column under that collection but i'm not able to retrive the user property defined in FMEA worksheet profiling.

Have you any advice/suggestion?

 please have a look to the document attached: it's a list of Predefined Java Script Methods that you can use during your template customization in BIRT.

In your case, you should first identify the right Data Set and then to define a Computed Column (a new property for the selected DS) that will use one of the method listed in the document attached.
In your case, the following function could be helpful :

function customStringSafe(object, name, defaultText)

where the object should be retrieved via:

row["@self"].getObject()

 and in the name field you should specify the name of the custom property defined in your medini project, so in your case it will be:

"user_next_higher_level"

 in defaultText you should specify a text that you want print if the returned value is null.
So, the final result is:

customStringSafe(row["@self"].getObject(), "user_next_higher_level", "")

 If this method is returning an object you could decide to access to one of its property like the name for example:

customStringSafe(row["@self"].getObject(), "user_next_higher_level", "").name

Note: to identify the right Data Set in BIRT, you should refer to the same class used in medini to define your custom property ("user_next_higher_level" (for example: if you have defined it at FMEA component level then you have to refer to the FMEAComponentEntryDataSet in BIRT)
