How to restart counting the row number of each group in table(Grouping in dynamic table)

There are 20 rows in the table. I grouped them into 3 parts according to its safety goals. The result looking like it is grouped into 3 parts but the count is the same as for table (1 to 20). It is not restarting in each grouped table. I want it to be like 1 to 7 , 1 to 6 and 1-7 .

Aha, ok. I think the magic is revealed by this article on the eclipse forum.

You have to use aggregation and create an additional binding add the table using "Add Aggregation".

I tested it and it works good, see my attached simple example.

Thanks for the reply . Actually I am able to do grouping of rows of the table.

I just wanted the row number (or we can say S.No to be restart the counting in each group of table).

Here in below picture , I have grouped the table in multiple table according to its safety goal.

What I want is to start the second grouped table from 1 . (In my case after 21st row of last grouped table , it gives 22th in next grouped table ). I have used row_num property to fetch row number.

When I want to dynamically generate the subchapter number (e.g. 1.1.3.x) I use to take the rownum data to increment the number according to the table's row.

How should I proceed when I want to do it based on the grouping data (number shall be incremented with data grouped but i don't see any rownum for grouped row, only the rownum for the details)

sorry I have no example since I don't know how to implement it. Just when I create a group of a table, I would like to set a dynamic field to add chapter counting of the group header...

I found a solution on Eclipse forum.

You have to create script:

1 into the overall report --> initialize section

var rowgroup;

1 into the concerne table (do it for each table, you can use same variable) --> onCreate section


rowgroup = 0;

1 into the row concerned by the group --> onRender section

rowgroup = rowgroup+1;

Generating the report you can have the result of the current grouped row (and then use it to increment the chapter)
