Item Definition Report

Hello,

Sorry for this silly question I didn't quite read the documentation first. I am using ESL project as an example and item_definition_report.rtpdesign and I've noticed that same part of report is not correct filled up.

Where should I add a diagram to be filled up in the Preliminary Architecture ?

Hi Reece,

If you want to see the diagram you need to select the diagram and based on your selection your report would be different.

You can go to Item Architecture and select ESL and press a item report generation and the diagram would appear in the report but you will get the same error with the item since it is not finding the item.

As far as I know the item definition reports is selection sensitive, I think you have to select the item.

Furthermore it expects that there is a trace between item and the architecture.

The second question I do not fully get, you have "Report Design" in that picture, don't you?

Hello Jan,

Thank you for answer. I was able to generate the correct report in the end the framework is quite intuitive. I was saying that it is great if ESL example would fully generate the item report. (Please see attached file) I was on the "Electronic Steer Lock".

The second table is not populated. It is not a big issue of course more an improve training documentation.

The second question is related to the BIRT training material page 11. Is this from Medini ? If yes I don't have so many options.

you have to create your own custom property in the data set to reflect the custom property.

There are some examples in this forum I think.

Hi Reece,

The item definition report is provided by Ansys and you can find it the Medini installation directory something like:

....\ANSYS Germany GmbH\medini analyze 2021 R2\Program\plugins\de.ikv.analyze.reporting_1.0.1.202108202106\reports

based on this report you can customize the reporting using BIRT. If you have the last version 2021 R2.1 you can install the Ansys Medini Report-Design extension.

Hi Reece,

The error said that your position is not the right one. You have to be with the pointer (cursor) after the Item Definition and select "Electronic Steering lock". In this case you will not have any errors.
