Question about Column binding "Name"

Hello,

Is there anything I need to do to make use of older versions of the design files in medini analyze 2021R1?

When using the rptdesign file used in the past version of medini with 2021R1, the following error appears.

Column binding "Name" has referred to a data set column "Name" which does not exist.

Is it necessary to modify the design file each time the version of medini is upgraded?

What should I check if I need to make corrections each time?

The version I used in the past is birt-extension-19.1.2,

The version of medini analyze will be around 2019 R2-2019 R3.

Florent is right,

this is not a general problem but only occurs if you have a report design that accesses/uses metamodel attributes

which have changed. You you should check the Metamodel documentation for any change that may affect your design.

Problem I had in the past often: when you add a list or table to the report, and add a Binding,

BIRT usually binds ALL available attributes (see the Binding tab), even if you just use one or two bindings.

So when you now migrate to a newer version and one of the bindings has changed, BIRT complains,

even if your table would not be affected.  So make sure you BINDING does not contain unnecessary bindings

in the old version to have less problems when migrating them.

Hello

I think that I encountered the same issue. It was due to the fact that the medini metamodel had evolved from one version to another..I have edited the xml of the rptdesign file and I have renamed manually the problematic artefact. Not sure that it would work for you but for me it was OK.
