BIRT - Create image of model and insert it into report design

Could you please explain here what are the main steps to be able to add image into a report design (dynamic image) as for example Sys ML diagram or FSC.

I have tried to re-use existing reports design but it doesn't work (because I think I miss some steps).

Hi Romain,

Q1: passing an element via the "element" parameter will only give you images the given element is visible on, so treat it like an additional filter (diagram type is still applied too

Q2: you want to limit it to just a single diagram? Hm, not sure this is possible. At least "consider selection" will reduce it but that's then a user input filter

Q3: hm, did not get this one, could you elaborate a bit more?

Hello,

Once again I am now a step forward. I reused the template "SafetyConcep" as it is to generate Images and it works.

I have also understood that the "DiagramType" parameter of the dataset "ArchitectureImage" is used to filter the kind of diagram (e.g. SysML for architecture diagram).

Question1: what is the aim of the parameter "element" and how to use it (by default set to "null").

Question2: how to limit the image generation to a selected one, not all the diagrams that fulfill the condition "DiagramType" (maybe using the parameter from the question 1...)

Question3: how to put the images generated into a dossier automatically ?

For Q1 and Q2 is working and I found a way with customized column in Medini (but thank you anyway).

For Q3: my question is related to the quantity of image that is generated at every reporting (same location than the rptdesign source). So I was wondering how to put all these images directly in a dossier (same location than the rptdesign source) to be more easier to manage it (or remove it).

The image data source may generate more temporary images, then you actually use, similar to other data sources. You may for example filter them at the list and just use 1 image, though the data source generates 100 images when it gets created. So a dossier may just use all images form teh data source and list them ina document, maybe by a list?
