Cause/Effects in FMEA tables

Question

Hello,

I currently work with the FMEA table and in particular with singe FMEA entries. I try to create a data set for the causes and the effects of the entry.

//fmea line/ fmea entry object

var obj =row["@self"].getObject();

//failure modes could also be not set-> how to check, if the failure mode objects exists, before calling the failure modes? How do I call the failure modes?

var fm = obj.row["failureModes"];

//failure modes is an array, for each of the failure modes the causes should be found

for (var i = 0; i < fm.size(); i++) {

//the cause can also be not set

fm.get(i).getCaues(); > how to check, if the cauese object exists, before calling the failure modes? How do I call the causes?

this helped me a lot. I have extended the script to get the label.

var compEntry =row["@self"].getObject();

var failureEntries = compEntry.getFailureModes();

//retrufn empty name in case of no causes

var causeName ="";

// check if there are falure entries set and then iterate over the size

for (var i = 0; failureEntries && i < failureEntries.size(); i++) {

var failureEntry = failureEntries.get(i);

var causeEntries = failureEntry.getFailureCauses()

// check if there are cause entries set and then iterate over the size

for (var j = 0; causeEntries && j < causeEntries.size(); j++) {

causeEntry = causeEntries.get(j);

//get the name of the object found above

causeName= causeEntry.getElement().getLabel();

}

//return the label of the cause

causeName

I have a small additional question. Since the Cause is part of the component, I would like to concatenate the parent of the cause with the case name: e.g. the cause is "short" now, I want to display the capacitor of the short "C1 short". How I do navigate from the cause to its container? (of course this could be in some cases a collection)

the script could look like this:

var compEntry =row["@self"].getObject();

var failureEntries = compEntry.getFailureModes();

// the and in the condition of the for-loop guarantees that the failureEntries are set otherwise the loop is not entered

for (var i = 0; failureEntries && i < failureEntries.size(); i++) {

var failureEntry = failureEntries.get(i);

var causeEntries = failureEntry.getFailureCauses()

for (var j = 0; causeEntries && j < causeEntries.size(); j++) {

var causeEntry = causeEntries.get(j);

}
