Extract description of all elements of a diagram

Hi,

i'm trying to create a custom report that exports all the descrription of the elements of a diagram.

For example a diagram has this elements:

Element a

Element b that contains elements b1 and b2

Element c

I'd like to export the description of all elements, also children one.

I'm using a OCL data source, and i've created a data set with the following query text

"PJDiagram.allInstances()->select(mediniIdentifier = diagram).diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children.element"

With this query i can extract only Element a , b and c descriptions, not the b1 and b2 one.

Can anyone help?

i've tryied to add a further ".children" in the query but it doens't work, it seems to extract only the first children element.

Cool! What about the conversion into a set to avoid that elements appear multiple times?

self.diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children->closure(c | c.oclAsType(notation::Node).children).element->asSet()

Maybe BIRT is doing that behind the scenes.

The problem is indeed the "children" attribute, it refers to "direct" children only, not to children of children.

There is some support for these kind of recursive problems in OCL using "OCL closures" I think

like described here: https://modeling-languages.com/closure-operation-added-to-ocl/#:~:text=Closure%20operation%20added%20to%20OCL&text=Now%20OCL%20has%20a%20closure,children.

But I do not have experience myself with this.

I've tried the PJDiagram.allInstances()->select(mediniIdentifier = diagram).diagram.eAllContents().oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children.element query
but it doesn't work.

Have i understood correclty your suggestion?

Instead using the query

PJDiagram.allInstances()->select(mediniIdentifier = diagram).diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children.children.element query the result are all the outer elements and the ports included in that elements. The elements included are not exported for some strange reasong.

Well, not exactly. My proposal was to replace .children by .eAllContent(), so:

PJDiagram.allInstances()->select(mediniIdentifier = diagram).diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).eAllContent().element

<?WORD FLAGGED?>, that's a bad news. So closure might be the solution, could you try something like:

self.diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children->closure(c | c.oclAsType(notation::Node).children)

Note that I tried this not in BIRT but in the OCL Console.

i've just added an .element at the end and now i can see all the elements!

self.diagram.oclAsType(notation::Diagram).children->closure(c | c.oclAsType(notation::Node).children).element
