Release of R19.1.0 and BIRT

You may have seen that just a few days ago we released R19.1.0. We have released many versions before so what's special with this one? Well, we upgraded the underlying Eclipse platform to 4.7 aka "Oxygen" (was 4.3 aka "Kepler" before) which at the same time comes with an upgrade of the BIRT reporting environment (from 4.3.2 to 4.7.0).

The add-on for BIRT designer that we shipped so far as a separate bundle is not going to work anymore with this version of BIRT and thus with R19.1.0 of medini. We will provide an updated version soon.

Thanks for the update, I just triggered a ticked before looking to this thread, thank you for the information, just to be sure I understand correctly, does the BIRT package is now included as well with the Medini R19.1.0 installation? I will just going to start playing with BIRT soon.

Hello Miguel,

no, the BIRT designer package is still a separate package. We tried to add it to the default installation but it has too many dependencies to eclipse plugins which introduce some UI contributions we don't want to have there. We will try to work out a solution.

Just as an update: the package is ready and currently under testing, hope to push it out early next week.

The BIRT designer add-on for R19.1 is now ready to be used. Please ping me here or via email and I will provide the package the usual way - due to its size I cannot upload it here to the forum unfortunately.

I received some feedback on the R19.1 BIRT package: help was missing for example and some problems were reported with data source wizard for OCL based data sources. We fixed all issues and repackaged the designer.
