Question about additional data property

Hi, I'm Bora Rim in HancomMDS which is distributor in Korea.

I have a question about additional data property.

In medini analyze, we can add data property in a column liked below.

But when we checked data set in BIRT, there is not exist additional data.

At this point, we want to add this new data property to BIRT's data set and generate report.

Is there any good idea or script for this question?

Hi Bora Rim,

in principle the solution depends on the type of data source you use, so OCL or native or whatsoever.

In OCL you for example have to add a "Computed Column" and in there a script that accesses he medini profile attribute. If you use the "native" medini project data source, you simply add an output column that has the same name as the profile property. I will send you some PDF that will help further separately.

I made a string type profile property for objects of type PJDiagram to select, which PJDiagrams have to be in my report. It gives the option to set "true" or "false"

Now I put a "Computed Column" in my "SafetyRequirementDiagramsOCL" DataSet and Disabled Caching.

If I try to preview the results for this computed Column:

row["@self"].getObject().getProfilePropertyValue("nachweisrelevant").get(0);

I get this exception:

But I know, that any of the given elements got a selection whether it is "true" or "false"

If I put this into a try{}catch(e){}-block, previewing the results works like this:

but I get this exception during report generation:

Could you imagine any reason?

Do you have details on the error "Invalid Javascript" is indeed not descriptive.

I propose that you write some basic functions to help with profile and place them

in the scripts section of the design (e.g. in oninit()). These functions then can be used

at many places and you do not have to duplicate code.

The javascript_lib.js which comes with the medini reports

for example defines among others:

Okay, as solution:

Putting the given script to the Report-Design -> "initialize"

Make a new Computed Column -> customStringSafe(row["@self"].getObject(), name, defaultText);

The Computed Column will give the correct results

Exactly! The "getObject()" is required to navigate from the "BIRT row entry" to the real Java object (the medini object)-
