Hi,

I did a little trial & error for providing a stable datasource for my reporting project.

I managed to build a standard project datasource and the EMF ecore datasource for the PJDiagram Models.

Now I managed to show the mediniIdentifiers of all visible elements on a specific diagram.

Now: How is it possible to get the model itself, if I know all visible elements and the belonging diagram.

For further explanation I will post a picture of my datasources + the PDF-result (I have no idea if this is right or wrong):

Hello Jan,

I´m sorry for the confusion.

In another topic we discussed how to render images/models in safety reports.

You gave me the link to another topic which describes the dynamic image function.

But to use the dynamic image I need the datasources and I´m not able to use the one´s you defined in the example report.

So I want to define my own datasource for every possible diagram in my medini analyze project.

Now I tried to understand what you did in your example report, but I didn´t.

There´s nothing in the BIRT help for Scripted datasources and EMF datasources

So what I need, and I hope you can help me:

- A description of the function of scripted datasources

- A description of joint datasources

- And most importantly a description where the ImageData of a diagram is stored and how I can extract it to render the image into my diagram

The pictures above are from my own testing project. I got access to a lot of data, but I´m not able to manage to get the image or understand the datasources from your example project.

the point is that writing your own image data source with scripts might be extremely tricky.

There should be basically an image data source for each diagram type so I wonder whats kind of issue you have. Some wehre missing for quite some time and were added in 19.4.0 so maybe that's (again?) the issue here?

Once chance might be that you first write a script that exports ALL diagrams to a temporary folder (no BIRT). You script a datasource that maps all diagram objects in medini to that temporary folder with exported images in BIRT. So you run the script first, then generate the report.

Okay, I understand what you mean.

First question:

But if I want to render this three Diagramm types:

- Safety Requirements (No problem, available in your example)

- FTA

- System Design Model

Is this possible with Version 19.2?

Second question:

What do you mean with mapping of the diagram objects to the folder with exported images (on scripting level I mean)?

Is it possible to get a sample code of a scripted datasource or for the mapping you mean?

Problem is, that if I try to render the diagram myself with the "diagram.js" -> "renderDiagram", I geht this:

Need to check the first question. The second: I was thinking of a simple DS that is defined for PJDiagram objects and that uses the medini identfiier of the diagram to look for a previously rendered diagram in a dedicated folder that was filled with the diagram images before. Last thing: seems that the diagram.js is not working for 19.2, need to have a look myself.

Okay, thank you very much and sorry for the coding mistake.

Didn´t think the diagram is the selection[0] itself.

I found a way to render FTA-Models by BIRT yesterday (same procedure like SafetyRequirements, but the datasourcefilter has to be set to from "Safetygoals" to "all")

Now I´ll try it with SystemDesign Models. If it works okay, if not I´ll check your suggestion.

So I tried it my (actually your) way and it works with 19.2 for System Design Models as well.

So the question for the imagerenderer is answered at first.

Is it possible to decide, which row from a dataset should be printed to the report?

Or is it a fix and only by filter selectable routine for BIRT to go through the rows of the datasets?

Not fully sure I got the question, but you *may* use filters to restrict the amount of rows.

You may also use some other attributes of the image data set that allows you to find it to *one* diagram.

However, that works only if you have the medini identifier of the diagram object at hand.

I suggest to use filtering.

Thought it would be possible to select an item from this internal list by any key or something like that.

But if not, I´ll try it by filtering.

But unfortunately, for filtering I need another information from your side:

Is there any function or attribute in elements of type PJDiagram, to know in which package the Diagram is located?

I´ll show you an example:

If I try "ReferenceToPJDiagram.mediniGetContainer();" I´ll get a reference to a "PJProxyModelImpl" with the name "null". You can see the "console.log" underneath:

Jakob,

the element shown in your screenshot "Konventinel..." IS indeed no package but a PJProxyModel.

It has actually no name itself but references the "real model", here the goal model.

Use "originalModel" to navigate there if you need.
