Dear Jan,

Could you create a template for a Birt report which could be used for further development of other reports?

The template must then contain:

1) Masterpage with info according the ISO standard (project info, author, reviewer, date, revision, eg), with header, footer, logo eg.

2) History extracted from SVN

3) Listing of safety requirements with their properties and customized properties

4) Safety Requirement Diagrams (uncompressed, to be able to zoom in to readable size)

5)Tracing lists of all safety requirements to all traced items.

Hi Remco,

I'll try to come up with a good design template that fulfills the given points or at least prepares some entry point to be further developed. I'll keep posting the design while improving it so starting from early stage so you can follow the progress.

Some initial remarks already to each point:

1. main point is surely the customization, I anyway start with a simpel page that can be edited once in the designer, later we can bind it to a checklist or something

2. there has been a recent article about extraction of the real history from subversion, please have a look

3. that's the easiest part of it, I'll start with that one :-)

4. SV support will come with 2019 R2 so I'll go for PNG first

5. that's the trickier part, will do that as second step

Hi Remco,

I gave it a first shot based on some design that we created during a recent workshop. Its a simple table listing all requirements, some native and custom attributes and for each requirement the first diagram it appears on. It has some basic masterpage with watermark, header footer, some auto-text and generic logo. Some report variables to define report name etc.

It looks like this with my basic sample project:

I managed to accomplish also the remaining parts, at least content wise, I did not spend too much time on layout and styles. So the design now has the SVN version history table and lists all system model elements that are traced (allocated) to the requirement in an additional table, for now just showing its name. Please find an updated design and play project attached. Looks like:

The yellow bars are merely for illustration and can be hidden later in the design.

Hi Xiao,

sure I can. Both columns utilize the GMF meta model, so the data structure that is used to model and store diagrams in our tool. As you know, the data set itself is defined for PJDiagram which is our own meta class for a diagram placeholder in the project. From there I navigate to the "real" diagram model via the "diagram" relationship, so I use row["diagram"].getObject().

A diagram is build of so called "views", so basically visible elements that are either just diagram elements (like notes etc.) or have a semantic element behind. So from the view I can navigate to the semantic element using the "element" relation. From that element I for example get the UUID and put it into a collection with visibleElements += child.getElement().getMediniIdentifier() + " ".

The try/catch block I used because I was lazy and did not want to check whether the view really has an element behind all the time :-)

I just wondered: Is there a rptdesign file of the standard Safety Requirements Report?

Is it possible to add column with traces to this rptdesign? (All traces to to items/elements, but also traces to the FTA and so on)

Which type of datasource / dataset are you using, OCL?

Do you have nested data sets or just flat tables?

You can find the standard design files in the installation folder, under "plugins/de.ikv.analyze.reporting_XXX"

1) I am using your example rptdesign file you attached above. I think it is has änalyze project" and OCL and scripted.

2) +3) This report is not under the installation files. I mean the report that is created when I right-click the safetyrequirements and then select "Report/Generate Safety Requirements Report". The export to Excel already contains a column "Allocations" to the parts from the system architecture. This export does not contain the traces between the safety requirements and the FTA Events.
