The console "table" in the js

 Hello ,

part of the scripting is to "dump" a object info into console.

It is possible to implement a custom function looking for keys , or implement a toString for a scriptable object.
var obj = {

prop:10,
toString:function(){ 

  return "Custom Stringification :"+this.prop;}

}

console.log(obj);

Can we dream of having the console table part of the JS scripting ?
I guess the console is medini specific and not the rhino native, right ?

The "classic" JS has a specific method available at the console object.

there some workarounds using available js poly-fills but have the part of common scripts loaded for every exec script.

Would be possible to look for possible extension of  the console object with the table method.

Hi Marian,

I was not aware of console.table() interesting and very useful.

Do we get that in medini? I have doubts. Reason is that our JSConsole wrapper which accepts the JS calls is implemented as an Eclipse Console. And eclipse consoles are limited to text, max with some colors.

So the pure graphical capabilities of the Console Window ein eclipse is limited. So we eiter would have to convert the table into characters (maybe using - and | and +) or we have to visualize it outside of the text console. And additional window or view?
