Dependency (e.g., requires) creation based on SysML structure

This is Min.
Here’s an example.
It’s a simple demo that searches through a SysML model to find all the functions and then connects them with dependencies.
I hope this can be helpful in your region as well.

• Backgrounds

  • In medini, you can create dependencies between SysML elements (like require, use, or allocate) by right-clicking — it works instantly (on the fly).

  • There are other ways to do this too, but when you have many functions, it becomes very difficult to manage.

  • If we assume that dependencies exist between higher-level and lower-level functions according to the system model hierarchy, then we can automate these dependency connections based on that assumption.

  • With this script, medini users can automatically generate a draft of these connections and review the results. If needed, they can make small edits. If the initial assumption is solid, no additional work is required.

• How it works?
  • When you run the script, it connects functions spread across the model hierarchy with “requires” relations, and parts with “allocates” relations. The function connections are what the actual customer requested, while the others are just examples to explore what’s possible. There are various ways to apply this approach, and it’s up to the medini user to decide how to use it.
