As usual, each upcoming release will bring a few improvements, fixes and changes for scripting, reporting and generally customization. With this article I would like to teaser a bit what’s coming.
Obsolete $ENHANCED_CONTAINMENT_ACCESS$ pragma
In the early days of scripting medini we wanted to play it safe and forbid changing any containment in a script. Later we made it optional available by the mentioned pragma. Nowadays changing the containment is a normal task of a script and most users need that pragma. So we basically moved the need for the pragma, containment changes are always possible..
Support AQL as script language for derived properties
AQL might not be known to all of you, it's a query language close to OCL with a few improvements hat make life easier. It for example makes type handling much easier, as .oclAsType() is not required anymore (AQL knows the type). In addition, AQL is used for M2Doc, so anyone preparing preparing a reports can directly use that knowledge within derived properties and vice versa. This is an experimental feature that need to be enabled in the scripting preferences.
User can change script engine type of derived properties at any time
The title says it all: before 2025 R1 it was not possible to change the script language of a profile property. One had to remove the property and re-create it. Now it is much simpler and can be changed just like the script itself. You may for example try to run an OCL script in AQL :-)
Stable debugger
There were many reports on unstable debugging sessions, sometimes leading to frozen tool or even crashes. That should be yesterday's news!
M2Doc Reporting
The M2Doc reporting feature is now out of beta. In addition a service to format ate objects was added and the prompt service extended to also support multi-selection, option dialog etc. Small change: docm files are supported the same way as docx files to be used as report templates.
