How to propagate Safety Mechanisms in DC Sheet from higher level to Causes using a script?

Question

I want to propagate SMs inside the dc sheet from higher level to lower level elements which are connected as causes to the higher level elements.

First I need to find the right failue modes. The failure modes should violate the safety goal and and have an SM assigned.

Second I want to propagate the previously found SMs including their Safety goal assignement to the causing failures to lower level. In case one SM is only relevant at one SG this should also be reflected at the causing failure modes. The SMs at the causing element should not duplicate and I would like to also handover the diagnostics coverage values from higher to lower level. In case I am propagating from a lower level element to a higher level element this propagation should not be performed.

Any guidance and tipps are highley appreciated :-)

Hi all,

I've been pointed to the fact that in case on higher level DC sheet the SM selection is completely empty, as in the picture below,

then the resulting SM selection on lower level DC sheet is incorrectly showing all SMs, instead of none.

The updated "UpdateSMsInDCSheetWithDownPropagation.js" in the attached project file corrects this, so that in the above case the full filtering is applied:

Joel and I discussed this in more detail and we came up with a more advanced script, which also considers multiple safety goals on top level, thus evaluation groups on lower level. The resulting script is included in the attached project, which also contains a simple example of the DC sheet structure.

Note that for this to properly work (not only from scripting perspective, but also from logical point of view), there are multiple constraints, which the setup of the DC sheets and underlying models have to fulfil. These constraints are included in the script introduction.

Joel, you may add a pictorial overview of the DC sheet structures, so that it is easier to understand.
