finding all item definitions in the project

Hi All,

I want to collect all "Item definitions" and check a profile property in the item definition. Therefore I wanted to use the "finder".

But: what is the type of "item definition"? I used the "What is this" option in debug mode:

Metamodel.projectmodel.PJProxyModel

But this is much more than just "item definition"

Hi Sven,

you have to follow "originalModel" (or use "Resolve" button on the top right of the Attributes view) to the actual Item Definition, which has the type "Metamodel.hazard.PlainItem".

It seems I need some "Casting" to a special type? I receive this result if the tool is not sure of what kind of "type" the result is.

Hi Sven,

That's the result of the finder, a special object. If you have more items found, you have to iterate it for the individual ones. That's described here. More info on the finder is collected here under "Using the Finder".

Does that help? Otherwise please post a snippet of your code (in a derived profile property?).

you get as a result a list of the items - so you can convert it e.g. to an array and afterward iterate over the array - see also the section on Finder in the "Scripting and API Documentation" in the Help:

toList() / toArray() / asList() / asArray()

{Function} - Can be called on any FindResult to return the list of found elements either as an array or as a list (of type java.util.List). The returned result is never undefined but might be empty. Note that toList() and toArray() have the same functionality as asList() resp. asArray(). Both were introduced in 2022 R2 as replacement for the other functions which are deprecated.

I want to access the "ITEM" with OCL and I've tried this:

self.malfunctions.mediniGetContainer().oclAsType(sysml::SysMLActivity).getProfilePropertyValue('user_allocated_items').oclAsType(hazard::PlainItem)

The Type is Metamodel.hazard.PlainItem so I thought it is hazard::PlainItem in OCL?

But: I receive the error: "unknown type"

does this happen in the OCL Console or in a derived profile property? There are unfortunately some issues in OCL Console to access the full set of types from the meta-model. However, in the profile property everything works fine ...

Is it possible to create a PlainItem in a PJPackage?

Hi Johan, your request somehow slipped through the cracks, strange. Anyway, it seems that the factory indeed doe snot support that case yet!

I wonder why this comes up so late. Anyway, we will add that and publish a new version, stay tuned.

Sorry Johan, again me. Looks like I had an old version of the factory checked. Support for item was added in 2022.

So I asuppose that you alos have an older version of the facttory.js. I recently have uploaded the latets version to Scripting Libraries : Ansys medini analyze Support .

Please update your library and yo should be fine.
