You may have seen many scripts here in the forum in in support emails, which contain stuff like:
new java.io.File("test.txt")You may have guessed it or I may have explained somewhere else: the script is using the Java API and basically "scripting Java with Java Script". Since medini is Java and most API there is Java too, this is the perfect combination to write powerful Java / JS scripts.
As mentioned as well, we use the Rhino engine, one of the few Java Script implementations build on and for Java. There are a number of excellent articles on why and how to mix Java and Java Script in Rhino scripts.
