Change filename with renderDiagram (diagram.js)

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to modify renderDiagram in diagram.js so that the name of the output file isn't the mediniIdentifier but the name of the diagram?

I know windows would not like that if two diagrams share the same name but in our case all the diagrams have different names.

Also is there a way to trigger the "select all - autosize" on all the FTA diagrams in a project?

Ah, <?WORD FLAGGED?>, my fault, its a string. So this should work similar to your case:

...
 var renderedTo = renderDiagram(diagramProxy, imageFolder, imageFormat);

 var file = new java.io.File(renderedTo);
 var newFile = new java.io.File(file.parentFile, "Foo.png");
 file.renameTo(newFile);

 console.log("Diagram ''{0}'' ws rendered to {1}", diagramProxy.name, newFile);

The othere thing is not possible.

I think the renderDiagram fucntion returns the java.io.File object so you bascialyl coudl rename it to whatever you want.

Use the java.io.File.renameTo() fucntion.

I am not sure about the last question, I thought there is no dialog. Which one do you get?

I can't get renameTo() to work, it says the method doesn't existe for the object returned by renderDiagram.

This is the end of "renderDiagram" :

For my second point, I wanted to know if it was possible to make a script to automate what we have to do manually : open diagram, select all shapes, right click, format, autosize (because we change the settings of the shapes of events in our FTA diagrams.

Hello, I have an additional question regarding a small bug I encountered with "renderDiagram" (in "diagram.js"):

I made this call

var imageFolder = openDirectory("Choose target folder");
var renderedTo = renderDiagram(diagram, imageFolder, "PNG");

And imageFolder.getAbsolutePath() returns

C:\somefolder1\somefolder2

After line ~280 in diagram.js, imageLoc returns

file:///C:/Users/gerardad/AppData/Local/ANSYS Germany GmbH/medini analyze 2024 R1/Program/undefined/_EnWFoCcwEe-MlIxFOuRnfA.png

Which is my installation folder.

I tried debugging it but something happens during dataSet.initializeRows(parameters); (line 273 in diagrams.js).

I then quit and restarted medini analyse and the problem corrected itself. I'm guessing this has something not clearing because I changed the imageFolder attribution a few times.

Gerard, indeed a strange behavior but after checking the library we figured that something is missing.

There is a cache for generated images to avoid double rendering during report generation. That cache is cleared by normal report generatuion upfront but the diagram.js is missing this piece so you get the previously generated image at the location from last rendering. That would also explain why a restart helped.

Find attached an updated diagram.js (see code in line 273-275) + sample code (also updated).
