Create Custom Table Views by scripting

Hi,

Can I create 'Custom Table View' by script? Custom Table View is new feature in 2023 R2.

I am trying to create a certain template project and add the script to derive Custom Table View from SysML model. So I searched any APIs in factory.js which is included in the below Libraries, but could not find it.

Hello Yusuke,

there is curently no such support. In theory, that would be possibe as the table layout became a real model with 2023 R2 but we have no API yet for this kind of scripting, I am sorry.

I would like to inform my customers that currently they need to create the Table manually, but in a future version it will be possible to create it automatically.

You can say that, I am pretty sure we will have that API at some point. That was one reason why we made it a normal EMF model as the others.

I think we meanwhile even have an example, let me double check.

I have an update on this topic, or at least on how I understood it. You can find attached a library named "table_layout.js" and a sample script that sets the layout of a newly created checklist table. This wont work before 2023 R2, please be aware. Also, this is a very early version of it, so expect some glitches.

Now that I read your question again, I am not anymore sure this will help as you don't want to set the layout but derive a sysml custom table view, right? The solution I posted is just to modify the layout, so column visibility and width.

I could create the checklist table with layout set by your script.

This script is very useful for my understanding how to set the layout of checklist table.

But this script seems not to be directly related to Custom Table View.

(Please let me know if my understanding is wrong.)

If there are already any example scripts which set the layout of Custom Table View, could you please provide it?

I have no example yet as the dynamic table is not yet scriptable. I will keep you updated, hope to have more news soon.

Anyway, if you have created the table manually, you can set the layout the same way as for the example above. In theory :-)
