Scripting and ISO26262 certificate 2

I would like to ask scripting and ISO26262 certificate as below.

Question :

1. What kind of activities or process customers can skip by ‘VDE certified process of Functional safety’ of Ansys medini analyze?(general benefit of customers?)

2. If customers do not apply any scripting files, can customers judge Tool error Detection of medini as TD1?

I deepened my understanding about ISO26262-part8 certificate thanks to your information.

I also understand that there is no the following certification report.

In addition also the Certification Report (which clearly states what is certified by TÜV) is needed to understand, what has been checked by TÜV (and what not). I never found this certification report ...

I continue to learn tool qualification kit of medini too.

Hi Osajima-san,

as mentioned in the slides, a certificate by itself is not sufficient as an evidence of the Tool Qualification. This holds for any certificate - whether it is from TÜV or some other organization.  Even the TÜV certificate for APIS is referring to all the section of ISO26262-Part8 11.4. That section specifies what has to be done by the user. In addition, also the TCL determination based on TI and TD can only be done at the user side. The TÜVE certificate seems not to address that at all  as it only mentions 11.4 but not the other sections in Part8-Section 11. In addition also the Certification Report (which clearly states what is certified by TÜV) is needed to understand, what has been checked by TÜV (and what not). I never found this certification report ...

The medini tool qualification kit does contain all such information - so it is easy for the user to see, what he has to do in order to provide Evidence of Tool Qualification.

Thank you for your reply.

Some users currently use other tools for FMEA, FTA analysis which got TÜV certificate.

The users do not have to work for tool certificate.

If users change the tools to medini for their development, their concerning is that additional work for tool certificate will be necessary. If so, they do not want to change the tools to medini in their development process.

That's why i would like to know what ‘VDE certified process of Functional safety’ covers and users' benefit regarding medini with 'VDE certified process' for more details.

I want to discuss with users what activities will be necessary if users change the tools to medini in both cases with scripting and without scripting, and find out best solutions.
