How to replace a SysMLBlock from another ProjectLibrary

Hello,

how
can I replace an element (type = Metamodel.sysml.SysMLBlock, FailureMode, FailureRateData, User variables and further properties ) allocated in
Project1.Library1 with another element allocated in project Project2.Library2 with owned elements (with FailureModes, FailureRateData, User variables and further properties) per
script as a deep copy.

A snipped would be very helpful.

Hello Dieter,

there is no deep copy feature right now which take sthe burdon of your shoulder. So you have to stepwise create copies of objects yourself using the factory.js lib and copy all attributes.

That is cumbersome, I know but the only way to do it. If it is reduced to a few types as parts, failure modes, it may work though.

Please do not just assign elements in other projects, we dont have support for cross-project links yet.

There is of course a deep COpier available in medini (inside), we will check how we can reveal it.

Problem as usual is that you may do more things with it than our modle contraints allow.

Hello Eckhardt,

this is only a hint how to access data with the finder. I can also access data with selectElement from ui.js.

My experience with the assignment of objects in other projects leads to a link error, if the project is no more in the project explorer.

An assignment of project1.object = project2.object doesn't helps, because the reference doesnot exist anymore.

My question was how can I copy or replace the object content from one project to another project something like this:

project1.object = project2.object.copy();

I tried this assignement because the SysMLBlock object shows a method copy() in the debugger. But this term leads to an Java Script exception.

Another point is the member the_owned_elements of the object in project1 which is empty but not in project2. These owned elements should also assigned or copied to the object in project1.

Is there a binding for the copy() or deepcopy() feature. Similar as the retype function in Update_BOM.js
