DC Worksheet (FMEDA): List Custom Profile Property of assigned Safety Mechanisms

Dear community,

I struggle to find a way how to access a custom profile property of a safety mechanism catalog from within the DC worksheet view.

I tried creating a new derived attribute for "DC Failure Entry" and tried this

self.element.spfSafetyMechanisms.maxDC;

to access the built-in attribute "maxDC".

Actually I want to access the custom string property "diagnostic_time_point".

Please advise. Thank you!

(I took a look again at similiar topics, but fail to see where I go wrong.)

I had another tab open and rereading (https://medini.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/1000092279) together with my earlier comment, I now arrived at a working OCL variant:

self.element.oclAsType(safetyModel::FailureMode).spfSafetyMechanisms.getProfilePropertyValue('diagnostic_time_point')

Good enough for me.

If someone can enlighten me, why my JavaScript approach did not work, please go ahead :-)

Hi Peter,

are you in OCL or JS? With JS its is not possible to access a single attribute on a list of objects (which is in OCL).

So I assume "element. spfSafetyMechanisms" is a list of SMs - so you either have to iterate or pick one element.

Anyway, you wrote "safety mechanism catalog" so in the end, you may seek something else anyway?

I propose to give the OCL Console a try.

you are right, my words are easily mistaken. I mean "profile property of safety mechanisms(s) of a catalog". So the profile property is really part of the safety mechanism.

Indeed, "element.spfSafetyMechanisms" is either empty or can be a list of one or more safety mechanisms (that got selected/assigned in a DC worksheet).

I initially gave JS a go, as that is more direct (as got outlined by you on several occasions), but could suceed. As you wrote it probably is because I can't do "myList.myProperty" without using a loop. Again, I'm not really fluent with JavaScript.

I wrote my working solution using OCL in my previous answer. (I can't see the "mark as answer" button for my own replies.)

Good news: with 2020 R1.1 you may use

spfSafetyMechanisms.diagnostic_time_point

in OCL as well, no need for getProfilePropertyValue anymore

Hi Manish,

I am not sure what you wan to try but if that property is scripted (aka "derived") it cannot be written because the value (the state) is always computed.

Could you clarify that first?

What is the solution here that i can write to this user property ? Do you need more information from my side here ?
