Add House gate with .js script

Question

Using the GUI, I can drag an event from the Palette into the fta diagram. Then I can select the event, go into properties > Base > Kind and change it to HOUSE.

However, the effectiveKind filed/property is read-only, hence I cannot change it with a script like the following:

// Create a standard event
var event = Factory.createElement(fta_model_scope , Metamodel.FTA.Event);
// Change event name
event.name = name;
// Change event into an house gate
event.effectiveKind = "HOUSE"; // fails here

Any workarounds for this? Are there any plans to add this in a future release?

Hi, yes, it's called "kind".

And be aware that it belongs to the Event (as correctly modified in your script). In the attribute view you see initially the EventNode (when coming from the Model Browser), which only has the "effectiveKind". Just follow the "event" property in the attributes view.

Francesco, I think effectiveKind is a read-only and derived property, you cant change that. An event an the top of the tree for example will always have TOP_LEVEL as effective kind, no matter what you try to do. I don't recall but the attribute to change might be just "kind", maybe you check with the Attribute View or just try.
