Import *.layout file on FMEA Worksheet using JS (2022)

 As previously asked by another user in https://medini.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/1000091888 , I would to import a .layout file in a FMEA worksheet.

Our flow is as follows:

- We developed a Medini template with custom profiling columns in the FMEA worksheet.

- When we create a new Medini project, such template is used.

- A js script creates a new FMEA worksheet, then it imports the content of an excel spreadsheet in the FMEA worksheet

When I open the FMEA worksheet, I see all the columns (default ones and our custom ones) and I need to right click > Layout > Import from file and select our .layout file. Is there a way to import such layout file with javascript?

Hi Francesco,

Yes, this is possible. For an example, please have a look at the scripts in the "New" folder of the ISO21434 Cybersecurity projects on the Online Support Page (medini Help > Online Support Page... > Sample Projects > Best Practices Template (Cybersecurity).

There the applyLayout(...) function is used at the end to apply a layout, which is stored in the project as external file. You may adapt it for accessing the file system or just use as is, as you need it.
