compare strings

Hi,

I want to compare two attributes of an HE with each other.

One is a derived property with a severity setting (string; e.g. '(S3)')

the other is the official 26262_severity attribute.

I want to compare these two, but the brackes should be ignored.

I found two ways:

1. using "matches", but the regex is not working (.matches('*S*'))

2. using .contains, but this seems to be not possible. ("contains" was not found)

is there a clever way to do it?

probably you just need to concat everyting with a + like this:

self.operationalSituation.getProfilePropertyValue('user_xc_s').toString().matches('.*'+self.ISO26262_severity+'.*')

what do you mean by "regex is not working"? ... just try

my_attribute.match(/S[0-3]/)

This should return an array of the matches or null

PS: And if you use OCL, than it should be more like this:

my_attribute.matches('.*S.*')

Just to add: "contains" is not available in our JS engine, you have to use indexOf instead or use polyfills to get "contains" (search this forum for polyfills).

And to explain Eckhardt's comment: *S* is not a regular expression, the * as wildcard or placeholder for "any" is "glob style", in regular expressions you have to use .* (. for any and * for 0..*)
