update Hara after Situation catalog has chaned

Hi,

we have a situation catalogue and derived some HARAs from this catalogue.

Now (e.g. new VDA702) the rating is changing and we want to replace the rating in all used HEs.

Approach:

- We have a unique ID for each situation in the catalogue

- We derive a new project

- We want to replace (with a script) all "old" situations with the new Sit (the situation Matrix should also consider this)

- we do a merge and compare to check the changes

Is there a script, which can replace all Situation attributes from a selected catalogue in a selected HARA?

Hallo Sven,

There is a wrong attribute name in your script - it should look like this:

 //finally take over the E-Rating
 to.ISO26262_defaultExposure = he.template.ISO26262_exposure;
 he.ISO26262_exposure = he.template.ISO26262_exposure;

In addition probably a few checks are needed to test whether the source (he.template.ISO26262_exposure) does really contain a value resp. a valid value. The same holds for the comments ...

Hi Sven,

in general this should be possible (and if I remember correctly we did some time ago some similar script). In fact you would also not need the unique ID as each HARA line (HazardousEvent) does have a reference template to the catalog entry which was used to create the entry (as long as you created the HazardousEvent based on the catalog). So you could just copy values from the (updated) template to the HazardousEvent.

What exactly will you take over from the updated catalog - just the Exposure or any other changes too?

On the other side I also see some risks in this automation: When a HazardousEvent is created based on the catalog, the user would still have the opportunity to adjust some parameters - e.g. adding pedestrians&bicycle riders to traffic&people. This may have an impact on the Severity &Controllability ratings and subsequently on the ASIL&Safety Goal. An automatic change of such parameters may make the S&C rating wrong! The same holds actually for the case HazardousEvent is duplicated and modified ...

The script can be executed, but the Exposure will not be set. (no error message in JavaScript)

Hi Sven,

I am not sure what's behind your column "Exposurecatalogue"and what is the E-Value in your catalog before and after updating the catalog. However, at least the screenshot indicates in the third line that the exposure in the HARA is different from the one in the catalog. Was this changed manually (what is possible) - if not, I would suppose that this is a situation which is based ona change in the catalogue after running the script. The value in brackets (E3) shows the value of the catalog and E2 shows the value before the catalog was changed (and before the script was executed).

This would actually help you to see all the places where a change in the catalog impacted the hazardous situation (and also all changes which may have been done manually in the HARA). Of course you could also use brute-force and really completely remove all old values (even the manually set ones) by adding as last line to the script-snippet

And leaving out the line with the exposure comment.
