Control of Diagram elements with scripts

Hi all,

Is it possible to control diagram element with scripts?

I need the following to functions:

- select all ports of an element

- hide/unhide all ports of an element

Thanks Michael for your lessons learned. Some questions about that:

* diagram selection: yes, the engine resolves the diagram element to the semantic element before passing it to the script
* second point I dont understand, why do you need to select a "diagram"?

There is IMHO no feature to selectively remove ports from a diagram.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the hint with the "diagram" scripts. I was sucessful and I want to share what I learned:

* if I select the element on the diagram the selection is always the SysML object and not the "Shape"
* If I want to manipulate a specific shape of an element on a specific diagram I have select both explicit.
* If I want to "remove from diagram" something on the diagram I have to delete the shape which "points" with shape.element to the "something".

Considering all of this I was able to remove all Ports of an element when the element was placed on the diagram. In our case the elements can have around 80 ports, but only 2 or 3 are required on the diagram. Therefore we wrote a script.Or does Medini Analyze provide such a functionality? If yes, we have not found it.

Hi Michael,

first of all, yes, that's possible, Diagrams are managed and stored the same way as other models, there is a "Notation" meta model behind (Shapes, Nodes, Styles).

In practice its a bit tricky to script them. A starting point could be diagram.js which is floating in this forum as well and which I attached for your convenience.

There is a "getShapes" method to get all shapes of an element on a given diagram for example. And I think you can delete that shape afterwards.
