Hi,

I am using a user defined Date in a FMEA worksheet

How can I format the ELongObject for the use in an export to EXCEL?

 set(worksheet, currentRow, TQUALIDATE_COL, selection[0].topLevelComponents[i].children[0].user_my_TCL_date || "");

The code line above showes the number in EXCEL.

I found already a solution which can be handled.

if (selection[0].topLevelComponents[i].children[0].user_my_TCL_date){
	var DateValue = selection[0].topLevelComponents[i].children[0].user_my_TCL_date / 1000 / 60 / 60 / 24 + 25569;		//recalculation of Date in msec since 01.01.1900 to Date since 1970
	setNumber(worksheet, currentRow, TQUALIDATE_COL, DateValue);
}

The resulting value can now be used in Excel ;-)

Hi Günter,

I assume you refer to the "set" method from excel.js. Please note that this "set" method is meant for strings, so anything you pass here will be shown as a shared string in Excel anyway. There is a setNumber that should work for you.

Note that Excel has a very special way to treat dates: the use "seconds since 1.1.1900" and not "milliseconds since 1.1.19070" as Unix and Java are doing. If you do not succeed, maybe you have to come back here.

Hi Günter,

The error indicates that you tried to write a string, which is not allowed. Possibly coming from the '|| ""' at the end of your function call. Try to replace it by

set(worksheet, currentRow, TQUALIDATE_COL, selection[0].topLevelComponents[i].children[0].user_my_TCL_date * 1.0 || 0);

That should help avoiding your above error, but it does not yet do the calculations from Java to Excel base time!

Either you set up your own conversion function (here are some hints), or - maybe simpler - you put out the date as a string to Excel, see here.
