Set a checkDate based on string value

Hello,

I am importing Excel values to fill a checklist. I have an issue to set the checkDate of the checklist.

How can i set the checkdate based on a string value like "yyyy-mm-dd"? I have an error saying "...cannot be cast to class java.util.date".

Just to complement this:

Getting a readable date string from the java date value can be done via

var dateString = cli.checkDate.toString();

Interesting, I thought that a jav.util.Date is required, not java.sql.Date (as BIRT wants it). Anyway, if that works well, the better.

One cosmetic: I think the "new" keyword is not required here because its a static member of Date

cli.checkDate = java.sql.Date.valueOf("2022-01-02");
