Change in ".the_relationship_of_source" behavior

I'm posting this just to make sure that what we're seeing is indeed a feature as well as raising awareness about the issue.

We've been using a script called "Update Failure Rate" provided by Ansys which updates the failure rate of elements with have an allocation to another element (so that we can use a library of sorts).

This script makes use of the attribute "the_relationship_of_source" which used to contain only links to allocated elements. In Medini 2022 we noticed that this attribute now also includes the source elements of connectors that are in the diagrams. The script shows unwanted behaviors and updates elements that are not allocated but have a connector on any diagram.

We're in the process of modifying "Update Failure Rate" to use the attribute "dependencies" which seems to only reference the allocation relationships.

thank you for pointing out this - in fact it is related to our stepwise transition to SysML2.

The best way to avoid any issues would be to check in your script, whether the relation is an allocation. This could be done as follows:

// ....
if(the_relationship_of_source[j].stereotype == "allocate")
{
 // do your planned actions like summing up the failure rates
}
else
{
 //skip for any other kind of relation
}

You would also need to do this in case you use dependencies as there are also different kind of dependencies (e.g. requires or uses) possible.
