Complete empty function IDs, e.g. after an import

Hi,

Some people asked how to automatically assign IDs to functions, which do not yet have IDs defined - e.g. for new functions after an updated import from tools like Rhapsody.

Here is an example snipped, with a full script file attached.

Note: Make sure the autocounter is set right upfront (especially with medini <2021 R2.1 or with de-activated option "Prevent duplicated IDs") in order to avoid duplicated IDs.

Thanks Jan and Nils. I am looking for a scripted method to reset the auto counter pattern. I'm doing a script that clears everything in a project in order to have a clean template. We always forget to reset the auto counter pattern to 1 so I thought to be sure it will be nice to include the reset in the script.

From the provided link, it seems like the work around would be to create an object with ID at 0, pass into the function, then delete the object.

Hi Maisy,

do you mean that your first deleted all elements of the type and thus want to re-set the counter to 1, starting fresh? This can be done with the GUI via Project Settings > Auto-counter Patterns > double-click in the relevant "Counter" cell.

Or did you mean something different?
