FMEDA/DC worksheet: access a custom profile attribute

Dear Jan and community,

how may I access a custom profile attribute that I see in the editor for each DCFailureModeEntry? In my case I defined an attribute "comment" that I now want to access but fail to do so.

(For Metamodel.sysml.SysMLPart that worked just fine: myPart.myProperty worked.)

Hm, there should be no difference in access to profile attributes, should work for part as well

as for worksheet entries. So I assume there is some information missing or I don#t get it?

Do you mean, access from a script located somewhere else? In another derived property of the analyzed part?

Hi Jan,

it is the other way round. I can happily access custom attributes of a part's failure mode:

- properties view:

- attributes view (Diagnose -> What is this?)

The same does not work, when I do this from the matching DCWors

- DC Worksheet view (FMEDA), with a different custom attribute "comment"

- attributes view (Diagnose -> What is this?)

Where to find the comment?

... and I got it! I assumed the "presentation name" is identical to the "Name", which luckily is not the case.

Solution:

So you are completely right Jan! Sorry about the inconvenience. I keep the pictures here anyhow in case somebody else asks himself the question how to access custom profile attributes that are displayed in columns in a DC Worksheet (FMEDA) or FMEA.

Hi Jan,

What if I want to access the presentation name of a certain attribute?

I am writing a script which replaces text only within a column which is given in by the user.

However the column name the user sees in the FMEDA table is usually not the attribute name,

so presently I cannot access the right attribute.

Can you help me on that? Thanks!

there is unfortunately currently no way for a script to access these kind of (meta) data, I'm sorry.
