Read value of derived property

Question

Hi,

It seems like property that are derived from mediniGetOpposite are always of type EJavaObject with value such as #1. For example, if the property that's derived is an attack, rather than showing Type = Attack; Value = Attack [A001] ..., it would show type = EJavaObject; Value = #1. With this, I don't know how to read the value of the derived property via scripting.

Hi Maisy,

mediniGetOpposite does by default a list of objects - which potentially may be empty. Therefore you would need to access the elements as follows:

if(!mySelection.mediniGetOpposites("relationName").isEmpty()) 
 theElement =mySelection.mediniGetOpposites("relationName").get(0);
 // now you can access the fields e.g.
theElement.name = "A Name";

Of course in case the list contains multiple entries, you can iterate over the list:

var theList = mySelection.mediniGetOpposites("relationName");
 theList.toArray().forEach(function (entry) {
 entry.name = "A name";
 });
