Reading of malfunctions from a collection and derive FMEA worksheet by script

Question

Hi all,

I have created a collection with 4 malfunctions which shall be copied to functions at a SYSML model. How can I address the right collection and read the including malfunctions?

As seen in the picture above, there are more collections in the project and I need the content of ETA_Malfunctions. Copying malfunctions a UML model selected at the Model Browser is already working. However, this is currently hard coded.

Furthermore, I would like to derive a FMEA worksheet by script, after the malfunctions have been copied to the UML model. How can this be realized?

Good! May I propose this improvement:

var col = col_scope.findByType(Metamodel.safetyModel.FailureCollection, true).and("name", "ETA_Malfunctions").first();
if (col) {
 ...
}

That way you avoid an own iteration and code is simpler

Hi Jan,

I found a solution by a finder. I used the first way you described above because the name for the collection is considered as fix and will be placed at the template.

Hi Günter,

there is first of all no generic way to distinguish one collection of malfunctions from another one.

One way (not the best maybe) is the name of the collection (use a finder to find it) or an interactive dialog to select one. Another way would be to somehow tag the collection special Fir the later the collection unfortunately has no generic concept to tag it (we will introduce generic tagging with 22.1) so you will have to add your own boolean property for example or some multi string tag as discriminator (maybe hidden?)

For the second problem: is the FMEA already derived and you want to synchronize it or do you really want to create a new FMEA?
