Pass medini object from Javascript to a Java method

Hi.

Is it possible to pass a medini object from Javascript to a Java method?

Use-case:

We are using Javascript in medini. In the scripts, we are using some custom Java libraries. Passing data from Javascript to Java works fine for object types that are known in Java, e.g. String, int, ...

Now, we would like to pass a medini object instead as a method argument, for instance pass an entire requirements object instead of passing its properties as String.

Is this possible? I think that we would need at least the interface to be known in Java to be able to declare a method that takes the requirements object as argument and allows to access its members/member methods in Java.

Hi Ralph,

passing it to any Java method should be no problem, all medini objects are Java objects. The signature of the method can be any super class of the requirement (even java.lang.Object),

so Rhino will match the signature when calling from JS. With Object you can only access the stuff reflectively though. if you really want to provide a signature with the real interface, you have to make sure that you use the same classloader which is tricky because it has to be the one from the metamodle bundle, so an eclipse bundle. If the external library is just loaded from Rhino, it may not work.
