Access selected malfunction from a list of malfunctions present under functions

Hello,

I have a derived property called malfunctions under TARA.

The code is as folllows -

var functions;

try{

functions=self.asset.failures.;

}catch(e){

functions=null;

}

functions

--------------------------end of code--------------------------

However, this code adds all malfunctions available under functions to my property.

Is there a way, I can access only selected malfunction and drag and drop it to each row in TARA as needed ?

You can access the selection in a batch script but not in a profile script (i.e. a script that calculate a derived value.

These scripts are not meant to (1) do user interaction and (2) to change the data, they are executed in a read-transaction.

If you just want to have malfucntions references in TARA entries, you can use "reference profile" attributes, not scripted one.

I do not fully get the use case. Derived properties do not know anything about selection or ui, they shall also work if the project is loaded and used completely in the backend.

So I wonder whether your use case is not to show any column but to support the user in filling the TARA?

Sorry if my question and use case wasn't clear, I have just begun scripting / profiling in Medini. My use case is to have a column called "Malfunctions" in TARA and allow user to drag and drop a malfunction from given list of functions in the column.

Is it possible to access selection while profiling ?

I have tried accessing selection using the following :

if (selection && selection.length && selection[0].prototype == Metamodel.hazard.Failure) {

alert("You selected a failure");

}

however, selection is returned as undefined.

Is there a way I can access selection from a list of self.asset.failures ?
