Automatic Linking of Goals or Requirements

Hi,

I have Goals or requirements imported and a profile property with IDs of requirements to be linked to. Is there a script which can connect the corresponding requirements via "contributes to"?

e.g.

Requ_1: Be safe --> Profile property: "sub_requirement_A, subrequirement_B"

result:

"sub_requirement_A" and "subrequirement_B" contributes to "Requ_1"

Hi Sven,

I was searching our available scripts and found something that almost matches your case, it was designed originally as a kind of "post import from excl script" but is more or less doing the same thing.

I will check the compatibility with 20.1 and post it here once this is done.

Well, that was actually easier then expected, I cleaned the code a bit, used features from the latest medini versions.

The name of the property and the separation character have to customized in the script.

Pleas try and extend the script if it is required, then post any extension or issue here in the community if you like.

Hi Jan, in my profile property it looks like that:

I just want Requirement_123 to be linked, the rest should be deleted.

How can I integrate that in the script?

Hi Sven,

I improved the script in several ways to cope with your wish:

I fixed a bug in the script where obviously it should be continue instead of return (orz)
the default separator is now "\n" - should fit
there is a separate new config variable, named "mustMatch" which is a regular expression that any reference ID must match. the default is ".*" (aka match all), you have to change it to ".*_.*_.* to match your case

I at least could isolate the problem: the factory is not handling sub-requirements correctly,

that's why probably the first tests did work but now it does not.

I will have to post a fixed factory.js , stay tuned.

Well, indeed that should be prevented, we had a similar issue with traces.

I hope to quickly get this added.

Sven, attached a newer version. That always prevents the creation of a contribution if there is already one. Same behavior as for traces. You can change the behavior with a flag:
