Sort Tree Diagrams by Name

Dear ANSYS,

I want to alphabetically sort the child diagrams of a PJDiagram using the child diagram's name.

Of course, I can do that manually, with ALT+ARROW UP/DOWN. But some of our subtrees have dozens of child diagrams with very similar names, therefore

I would like just to select a PJDiagram and ask medini to alphabetically sort its children diagram (ascending). That without sorting all model browser, like clicking on the model browser aTOz Icon.

For example, can I do this ALT+ARROW UP/DOWN operation per script?

Hi Andre,

this is rather tricky. Point here is not the sorting itself, that's easy but especially "child diagram" is a virtual concept based on the composite, the diagram is connected to.

So the *real* PJDiagram object is not contained inside another PJDiagram but virtually shown there by the browser.

That makes it very hard for a script to work with. I would have to look up how the ALT-ARROW UP/DOWn code is working here.

I will post an update once I found it.

Hi Andre,

I think I made a mistake: diagrams *inside* parts or functions are virtually shown, but not child diagrams.

So in the picture below, Foo is not really contained in <?WORD FLAGGED?> but Bar is contained in Foo.

Having that said, it should be easy to sort the diagrams based on their names.

Please check this article for a snippet that you should be able to use. Note the $ENHANCED_CONTAINMENT_ACCESS$ pragma in the first line.

Note further that also diagrams are contained via "containedElements", not "the_owned_elements" so you need to change that.

I adapted the snippet you mentioned, it worked very well!

The needed adaptations:

- as you mentioned "the_owned_elements" -> "containedElements"

- commented out the if/then/else "This script must be executed on a single SysML element only";
