FTA TransferGateTarget

Hello!

This should be an easy one; I am scripting in transfer gates just fine but am not sure what the API is looking for when I try to pass the transferGateTarget property.

I see in the metamodel the attribute should be an EBoolean trait but am not sure what to pass it. What is the API looking for in this case, a Medini Identifier? If you have a super simple ex, that would be much appreciated!

I investigated this question further and I think the right way to set the "targetEventNode", see the end of the relation from transfer gate to EventNode.

So please use:

TransferGate.setTargetEventNode(EventNode newTargetEventNode);

Well, I think its an object reference, not sure why you think its a Boolean. Here is the figure of the metamodel:

Anyway, this API is rather tricky because we distinguish between "Events" and "Event Nodes". Typically one Event and one Event Node belong together but in case of MOE (multiple Occurring Events) the Event may occur as multiple Event Nodes in the FTA.

let me play a bit myself with the API and come back here to this thread.

Dear Jan,

I am unable to find the method "setTargetEventNode()" described in the meta model docmentation. Since also a colleague of mine asked: Is there a convenient way to see/retrieve (understand) a list of available methods an object holds?

Using the "-debug" flag allows to inspect the MetaModel interactively using "right-click -> Diagnose -> What is this?", but doesn't show methods -- it seems to restrict itself to displaying (inherited) attributes.

Regarding this specific topic: Is there a drawback in directly assigning the targetEvent attribute?

var TG1 = Factory.createElement(target.model, Metamodel.FTA.TransferGate);
TG1.targetEvent = ePET_FM; // point transfer gate at FTA event "ePET_FM"

When I create a logical gate it defaults to an AND gate (first item in the enumeration list). What is the syntax for setting the LogicalGateKind?

like this:

newGate.kind = Metamodel.FTA.LogicalGateKind.OR.instance;

You can see the enumeration list in the metamodel PDF. The important thing is to reference the "instance" of the object. If you search for that keyword, you'll find an explanation of Jan regarding that.
