Find FTAEvents related to a FailureMode

Hello.

We want to check for FailureModes that do not appear in FTAs (in OCL).

We did not find a relation from the safetyModel::FailureMode to the FTA::EventNode but the reverse. The following seems to work OK starting from self as FailureMode:

self.mediniGetOpposites('represents')->isEmpty()

However, how can I be sure that there is no other 'represents' relation from objects that are not EventNodes are fond by this expression?

The result list contains FailureModes, i.e. I cannot filter it for FTA types. Is there a way to restrict or filter the types of source elements considered for the opposite relation?

the function "mediniGetOpposites" does not offer any filtering. And indeed, you cannot be sure that there aren't other relationships with the same name. You can filter the list like this:

-- search for object representing this failure mode but only FTA events are of interest
self.mediniGetOpposites('represents')->select(r | r.oclIsKindOf(fta::Event))->isEmpty()

Thanks for your reply. The filter seems to work fine.

I have one more question on it (just for my understanding):

Why do I need to filter for FTA::Event?

When I check the 'What is this' of the FTA Event, the Attributes View tells me that it is an FTA::EventNode and that the 'represents' property is defined in EventNode.

But when I use FTA::EventNode in the filter, it does not work.

Hi Rlaph,

the separation between Event and EventNode is there since the introduction of Multiple Occurring Events (MOB). So an Event must have at least one EventNode but may have multiple if represented at several places in the tree. The Event in the end is the one that holds the "represents" relation, the EventNode ist the one visible on diagram and Browser tree.

You can see "represents" at Event, but "represents*" at EventNode. The later is a derived property for your convenience but the real relation is between Event and Represented. You can navigate from "EventNode to Event via "event".
