FTA: setting ID during event creation

Dear Jan, Dear community,

I'm working on a script that creates nodes in a FTA diagram. Is there a suggested way to set a new eventNode's ID? I thought about obtaining the current FTA event counter and incrementing it by one.

Using search I merely found the topic were Jan describes how to renumber a complete model (to prevent duplicate FTA IDs).

Hi Peter,

please check which version of the "finderEx" lib you are using.

If there is a definition of "AutoCounterSupport", you can use it.

You may also check that pro grammatically like this to be sure:

var autocounting = ("AutoCounterSupport" in this);

You can now use the support like:

if (autocounting) {
 event.id = AutoCounterSupport.createUniqueIDString(threat, "id", "E001");
}

"id" is the name of the attribute to set (and also the to look for current counter), "E001" is a fallback value.
