FTA Event derivation from FMEA profiles

Hi,

I want to derive frequency and probability of
FTA events from FMEA tables. The frequency and probability shall be calculated according to the specific values (custom profiles) created in the FMEA failure modes which base on system model.

How to move a profile value of FMEA failure modes of a system component into the FTA event which represents that failure mode of the system component?

Besides, in FMEDA there are dangerous undetected failure rates for the failure modes. How to use those undetected failure rates in the corresponding FTA events instead of basic failure rate fractions?

That is feasible too, though a bit more tricky. You have to "reverse" navigate from the failure mode in the system design to the "failure entry" in the FMEA.

Two options: either use the finder to find a FailurEntry that references your failure mode or use medinigetOpposite() to get the entries

Solution 1 may look like:

// find the FMEA failure entry that references the same failure
finder.findByType(Metamodel.fmea.FailureEntry, false).and("element", event.represents)

Solution 2 may look like:

var referencing = event.represents.mediniGetOpposites("element");

// TODO Iterate over found references and grab the first FailureEntry

Hello Ayhan,

not sure but you probably have found already the "Custom" probability model in the Event "Probability" tab.

There are three types of languages supported each having advantages and disadvantages.

In the case you want to navigate to the "represented" element and obtain information from there, you cannot for example use the "Expression" language but should switch to Java Script or OCL. Important to know is that the event itself is defined as "event" variable in this script context:

The mistake we did is to use expression instead of js here.

Actually, we previously achieve this by executing a javascript file. It uses 'finder' to find all events. Then write their probability&frequency from a value of represented failure mode (of a system component). Your solution is better and easier.

p = event.represents.myvalue

However our problem is that: the upper methods works when a 'myvalue' is defined in the profiling of 'System Design->Failure Mode'. This is a value defined in system design.

However we want to use a value defined in FMEA. This is defined in the profiling of "FMEA Worksheets->Failure (derived FMEA only)"
