Our goal is to use HW components in the FMEDA (=blocks of
the HW architecture, consisting of multiple HW parts) as an input for the
quantitative FTA, to prevent that the quantitative FTA has to be refined up to
the HW parts level.
As discussed on 22-08-2019 in a telco with ANSYS Medini, we would like to have a script that can automatically
export for a given HW component
- the total
residual and single point fault failure rate ( ∑(λSPF+λRF) ) AND
- the Latent
Multiple Point Fault Failure rate (∑λMPF_undet) AND
- the
failure rate distribution (in %)
from the FMEDA, to
the failure modes in the Bill of Material (BOM), so that they can be used
as an input for the quantitative FTA.
By dragging the HW component in the Bill
of Material to the FTA diagram these two failure modes will be drawn as two
events below an OR-gate. This piece of fault tree can be linked to the rest of
the fault tree. In this way the FMEDA and the FTA will become numericaly consistent
and will be linked to each other.
