Reading Profiled Fields

Question

Hallo Jan,

Question of the day has to do with 'touching' the information that is stored in profiled fields, for example, in a checklist.

Say, I have a profiled field that allows users to write in multiple string based comments into a checklist as somewhat of a to-do list; how can I touch these objects and get their contents?

If I can touch the contents of the profiled field I may use the clipboard script to get them out for later use.

Hi Tony,

ok, got the point. Just to close this threat: the project is not a singleton value, that you can directly refer to but it can be easily obtained from the finder scope (the project *is* actually the scope of the initial finder instance) So just use

var project = finder.scope;

Looks like I should have waited one day to ask this question. Günter (Gaebelein Guenter) knocked out two questions with one response.

My question was referring to the section that follows.

 text += "Project No.";
 text += SEP;
 text += element.ID_project_no || "";
 text += NL;
 text += "Project Name";
 text += SEP;
 text += element.ID_project_name || "";
 text += NL;
 text += "Product Group";
 text += SEP;
 text += element.ID_product_group || "";
 text += NL;

}

I was not sure how to query the project to find the profiled pieces and extract their data.

Hello Tony,

not sure what you mean with 'touching'. So you just want to read the values? Anything that prevents you from finding them or reading the values?
