Yes, the intent was to ensure that changes are saved after running a script. I no longer have the need for this, I think the risks outweighed the benefits.

there is unfortunately no such function at the moment.

What exactly do you want to achieve, you have a script that modifies the project and wants to make sure that the changes are saved? Would an option, that projects are always saved after script execution help?
