System Element allocation

 Hi, I am trying to use the "allocate" function to draw a deployment view. e.g. I have two architecture models, one is the logical architecture, the other model is a list of all available ECUs. What I need now, is a diagram showing this allocation. I tried to use the "dependency net" or the "normal" diagram. both versions do not work. The allocation can be done in the dependency net, but is not shown. Even with all possible views are switched ON. What is the strategy to show such deployments? Sven

Hi Sven, the easiest way actually to create allocations would be by selecting the higher level model and choosing from context menu Allocate Elements and in the upcoming dialog select the target model. It opens a side-by-side view which enables the creation of 1-1 as well as of 1-n allocations. Filter options are applicable to hide elements which have already allocations. The Dependency also does allow you to create such Allocations - but it may be more time consuming as you only see the net that is spanned by the focus element and can also only add dependencies which have source/target in the current net. Nevertheless, they should be visible after you created them. Can you please check, whether you have not filtered the display of allocations? And finally, creating a Dependency in the SysML diagram editor and changing the stereotype to <<allocate>> doe not make an allocation out of it as they are not of the same SysMLmeta class. This is also visualized by dashed/solid line in the Dependency net and a dependency with an <<allocate>> stereotype would go to category "Other dependencies" Eckhardt
