How it Works
Integers in Mission profiles
medini_1050701002
Hello, Is there way to make the parameters "cyclesPerYear" and/or "calendarTime" of the phases in mission profile accept decimal values? If it's not possible how would you solve this issue: I have two system fleets which do not see the same mission profile. Any system can be in one the two fleets during the year (60%chance to be in fleet 1, 40% to be in fleet 2), the life profile I planned to use in Medini was a big life profile containing all the phases applicable to fleets 1 and 2 and multiply the number of hours/number of cycles by 0.6 and 0.4. This introduced a lot of decimal value in my profile. Thank you, Adrien Gérard

Hello Gerard, I assume you are using the mission profile in connection with the IEC62380 catalog (?): Note, for that case the number of cycles (i.e. cycles per year) has only a very coarse-grained impact on the calculation of the failure rates . It impacts the determination of the pi_n factor by checking (for each working phases) whether the number of cycles is above or below 8760 cycles per year: So a value with non-integer numbers and digits behind the decimal separator may give an unjustified feeling of calculating more precise failure rates. Best regards, Eckhardt
